Waitrose Heathfield wants local charities to get in touch
Waitrose Heathfield is this week inviting local charities and groups to participate in its Community Matters scheme, which sees a donation shared between three good causes every month as voted for by customers. As shoppers go through the checkout, they receive a green token to place in a box of the cause they would most like to support - the more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the share they receive.
Waitrose Heathfield has donated more than £11000 to over 18 charities since the shop opened in 2016. Those interested in nominating a cause can pick up a nomination form in store.
Martin Gilliam, Branch Manager at Waitrose Heathfield, said: “We are really keen to ensure we continue to play our part in the community and support those causes that matter most to local people. We are very proud to have helped some incredible causes, including children’s charities, support groups, volunteer-run organisations and local sports clubs and would encourage any project or charity to contact us. The shop also provides staff volunteering hours each year through its Community Matters Partner Volunteering scheme”.
This month, Waitrose Heathfield is supporting: Parkside Community School PTA, Friends of Argos Hill Windmill and Sussex Air Cadets 249 Sqd.
