The Town Clock
This year Rotary International celebrates 100 years. To mark this celebration individual Rotary Clubs were asked to contribute something for their towns. Heathfield Rotary decided to raise enough funds to donate a town clock.
Jack Hampton along with the Heathfield Partnershiip organised a gala banquet and ball and an auction at a spar hotel in Tunbridge Wells. The funds raised from this event together with the support from local business enabled this project to be such a success. This shows how much people care about the town and Jack thanks all those people who contributed to this ambitious project.
The new clock was installed in May, on the corner of Stretfield Road outside Oxfam. It is 18 feet tall, 4 sided and illuminated. There are two brass plaques with the names of all major contributors engraved on it.
