Heathfield Trail, 2 November - 2 December

Tuesday 31st October 2017 1:41pm

Beat the Street is launching a mini game on the streets of Heathfield. Between Thursday 2nd November until Saturday 2nd December walkers will be able to collect letters displayed in shop windows and enter the prize draw. Once decoded, the letters will spell out a mystery word or phrase. Players of the mini game will then be encouraged to submit entry forms to win prizes.

Beat the Street came to East Sussex in the Summer and geared up over 42,000 people to walk, cycle and run collecting points as they tapped smart cards on Beat Boxes around the county. The game saw participants travelling the equivalent of nine times around the globe. Heathfield will have the opportunity to take part in the month long mini game in the run up to Christmas.

Participating outlets, launched in collaboration with Heathfield Chamber of Commerce, are spread out around the town and will encourage people to use the Cuckoo Trail to get around. Engagement Coordinator with Beat the Street, Kathryn Stanley, said “The  Chamber of Commerce have been brilliant in helping set up this mini-game. When Beat the Street finished in July people wanted more, and we are hoping people in Heathfield get involved, visit the retailers and do more than take part- we hope they enjoy the beautiful Cuckoo Trail and scenery around the town”.

A challenge for the mini game that players will be hunting down is the letter at the Farmers Market on Saturday 18th November.

The draw will take place at the Chamber Christmas event on Saturday 2nd December. Entry forms will be available from Thursday 2nd November at Heathfield Library and participating retailers and you can also download from here.
