Autism Sussex Store, Heathfield, Needs Donations

Tuesday 24th January 2017 2:42pm

A popular charity shop has issued an appeal for donations of furniture, clothing, toys, small electrical items and bric-a-brac to ensure it can continue to support local projects.

Staff at the Autism Sussex store, in Heathfield say donations have dropped off in recent months and new stock is desperately needed.

Shop manager Vita Buchanan said: "We are totally reliant on donations from members of the public and are always on the lookout for good quality items, particularly bric-a-brac, clothing and furniture. The local community has been very generous and we are very thankful for their support. However we are incredibly short of donations at the moment".

The charity is very pro recycling, furniture donations are upcycled to ensure the best income can be made from our donations.

We are always in need of volunteers to help at the shops; we offer a great variety of tasks and benefits to the local community. Our volunteering roles include van companionship, customer service, stock processing and upcycling.

The money that is raised in our shops goes to help local people of Sussex with an autistic spectrum condition to receive the help and specialist support they and their families need.
